A YEAR
 ACROSS FRANCE, GERMANY, AND POLAND

Over twelve months, fellows meet for three modules hosted in France, Germany, and Poland. Between the modules, they continue working in trinational teams, supported by expert mentoring, coaching, and continuous online collaboration.

FROM EXPERT INSIGHTS & DEEP REFLECTION TO JOINT ACTION

Each module combines conversations with leading policymakers, practitioners and academics, interactive working sessions, and structured project development, as well as elements of reflection and in-depth exploration of shared challenges. Working in trinational teams, Fellows develop joint initiatives that continue to evolve between the residential modules.

FAQ

Is the Fellowship an academic course or training programme?

Is the Fellowship an academic course or training programme?

No. The Fellowship is a peer-based leadership programme, not an academic course or training scheme, and it does not award a degree or formal qualification. Fellows participate as peers, contribute their professional experience and work together on initiatives with practical relevance for political and societal challenges.

Who is the Weimar Fellowship primarily designed for?

Who is the Weimar Fellowship primarily designed for?

The Fellowship is for politically engaged mid-career professionals with at least ten years of professional experience and increasing responsibility. Applicants should already have meaningful scope to shape an important field and show the potential to take on substantially greater leadership and influence over the next 10–15 years.

How does the Fellowship define leadership and significant responsibility?

How does the Fellowship define leadership and significant responsibility?

Leadership means genuine ability to shape a relevant field, make consequential decisions and bring insights from the Fellowship back into that work. Personnel responsibility is a common indicator, but not a requirement. Independently handling a subject area alone does not automatically constitute the level of leadership sought.

What does politically engaged mean for Weimar Fellowship applicants?
